The Tamarack Ledger is a static site served from a content delivery network. It has no account system, no comment form, no shop and no newsletter, so there is nothing to sign up for and no reader profile to build.

What is recorded

The host records the ordinary technical data any web server sees: the requested address, the time, the response code and the network the request came from. Those records are used to keep the site available and to understand which entries are read. They are not used to identify a reader and they are not combined with anything else.

The site sets no advertising cookie and no tracking script. There is no analytics product embedded in the pages, no social widget and no third-party font or image loaded from another domain.

What is not collected

No name, no postal address, no telephone number and no payment detail is collected, because the site sells nothing. There is no mailing list to join and no account to create.

A message you send

If a reader writes to the address on the contact page, the message is kept only as long as it takes to answer it or to make a correction. It is not added to a list and it is not passed to anyone else.

Asking about data

A reader who wants to know what is held about a message they sent, or who wants it deleted, can write to the same address and the request is handled directly. Questions about a house at a particular address cannot be answered here; the contact page explains what this desk can and cannot do.
